Parkview Noble Hospital recently added Ligonier native Brenda Patton as a member of the hospital board of directors. She
began her term in October and replaced Jim Witmer, who was a member of the board for 6 years.
Mrs. Patton brings a wealth of healthcare knowledge to her position on the board, having been a nurse for many years.
A graduate of the South Bend Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Patton worked at Memorial Hospital for one year and then at the Lagrange County Hospital for 10 years as a staff nurse and fill-in charge nurse. She was then employed as a staff nurse for several physicians in the Topeka area for more than 20 years and most recently served as the public health nurse with the Noble County Health Department. She retired from that position in 2002 after 11 years.
Mrs. Patton said she was excited about joining the board. “I think it is a privilege to be asked to join the hospital board. I welcome the opportunity to be a part of all the healthcare changes that are happening,” she added.
Mrs. Patton also serves on the Grants Committee at the Noble County Community Foundation and has been a member of the Ligonier Library Board and Foundations of Noble County Board.
Parkview Noble COO Dave Hunter said he was pleased Mrs. Patton accepted the offer to join the hospital board. “I think Brenda will be a tremendous asset to our board given her background in community health, her knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and her experience as a nurse.”
