LaGrange, IN. Parkview LaGrange Hospital recently announced the appointment of Jeffrey Barr, MD to its medical staff. Barr is an anesthesiologist and pain management specialist and a member of Ortho NorthEast (ONE)’s PainONE medical team based in Fort Wayne. Prior to coming to northeast Indiana, Barr served as a comprehensive pain physician at Audie L. Murphy VA in San Antonio, Texas.
Barr received his undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan and attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He continued his medical education with an internship and anesthesiology residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. He also completed a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Barr is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology as well as a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the International Spine Intervention Society. He served as a Major in the United States Air Force. While in the military, he was a Pain Medicine Consultant to the Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. He has held teaching positions in anesthesiology and pain medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Barr is a frequent presenter at medical conferences, most often on the topics of pain management and spinal cord stimulation.
