LAGRANGE, IN. Staff of Parkview LaGrange Hospital held a celebration Friday afternoon for having achieved an overall quality of care ranking that placed them in the top 10% in the nation. The ranking is based on perception of care surveys conducted with over 300 randomly selected patients who received services at the hospital in 2010. Several departments were specifically identified within the top 10%, including the hospital’s inpatient services, emergency department, radiology, and laboratory. The surgery department and EMS service were also recognized for being in the top 20% nationally.
In addition to the overall quality of care, feedback from the surveys also placed the hospital in the top 10% for the teamwork among physicians, nurses and staff, the staff’s courtesy and friendliness, and the ease of the admitting process. The quality of the inpatient accommodations, the facility’s cleanliness, and the food served to patients also achieved high marks.
The survey data comes from Professional Research Consultants’ (PRC) national client database and was collected through phone interviews conducted by PRC, which is a nationally known healthcare marketing research company headquartered in Omaha, Neb.
