TRI KAPPA Art Fair

2/15/2010

The LaGrange County’s Mu Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority held their annual Tri Kappa Art Fair on February 16, 2010. Students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade from throughout LaGrange County participated.  Each class was invited to submit ten entries, which were then reviewed by members of the Mu Chapter. Judges awarded ribbons for first, second and third place for the winning art pieces from each class. The remaining seven received finalist ribbons.

In past years, the winning entries have been displayed at the LaGrange County Public Library. This year, the Library is in the process of moving and alternative locations for the exhibit needed to be found. The new Topeka Library and Parkview LaGrange Hospital have graciously offered exhibit space for the winning artwork from this year’s Tri Kappa Art Fair. Topeka Library will display the art from classes at Meadowview, Shipshe-Scott, Westview Elementary and Junior High, and Topeka Elementary. Parkview LaGrange Hospital will display the winning pieces from Howe Military, Lima-Brighton, Wolcott Mills, Prairie Heights Middle School and Lakeland. The work will be on display at both locations for the next several weeks.

Tri Kappa would like to thank all of the talented artists that entered their art pieces, the art teachers, teachers, principals and others who have supported or helped with this year’s Art Fair.

Tri Kappa is a philanthropic organization that brings together women to promote charity, culture and education. The annual Art Fair is one of several community-based projects supported by LaGrange’s Mu Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority.
