LaGrange, Ind. – Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 - Parkview LaGrange Hospital, Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center and Fort Wayne Medical Oncology & Hematology are pleased to announce the opening of the Parkview Medical Oncology Clinic at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. Their close collaboration has focused on developing a setting that will provide comfort, convenience and expert cancer care close to home for patients from LaGrange County and the surrounding area.
The Parkview Medical Oncology Clinic will offer new and continuing patients on-site access to:
*Consultations and follow-up visits
*Chemotherapy infusions
*Targeted therapies
*Parkview LaGrange Hospital’s lab and advanced imaging services
Through their partnership, patients will also have access to the full array of research protocols available through Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center and Fort Wayne Medical Oncology & Hematology in Fort Wayne.
The new Parkview Medical Oncology Clinic at Parkview LaGrange Hospital offers two exam rooms and five chemotherapy infusion bays. Each bay offers the patient:
*The comfort of a reclining chemo chair
*Individual flat screen televisions
*Snacks and a meal for those whose treatments take several hours
The clinic will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, Sept. 29. The clinic will be open Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Dr. Steven Rhinehart, Fort Wayne Medical Oncology & Hematology, will provide the medical care to patients.
