Foundation receives gift from Farmers State Bank

6/14/2009

Monday, June 15, Joe Pierce, president of Farmers State, delivered a check for $2500 dollars to Jen Will, coordinator of the Parkview LaGrange Foundation. The gift was the culmination of a matching challenge issued by Farmers State Bank earlier this year to assist with the launch of the Parkview LaGrange Foundation. For every two dollars raised by the foundation, up to the first $5,000 in donations, the bank pledged to give an additional dollar.

“Like Parkview LaGrange Hospital, Farmers State Bank believes in giving back to its community,” said Pierce. “We, too, are committed to the well-being of our customers and the communities we serve.”

“We are very grateful to Farmers State Bank for their support,” said Will. “Their generous gift will help us to continue to develop healthcare programs and services that benefit those who live and work in LaGrange County and the surrounding area.”

All donations to the Parkview LaGrange Foundation remain in LaGrange County to support continued improvement of the hospital’s services, facilities, equipment and programs, such as the Medication Assistance Program, which provides emergency medication for those who do not have the personal resources or medication benefits to cover the cost. For additional information about the Parkview LaGrange Foundation, contact Jen Will at 260/463-9004.

Parkview LaGrange Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital and is licensed as a 25-bed critical access hospital to provide acute care services to the people of LaGrange County and surrounding communities.  In July of 2008 Parkview LaGrange opened its new, $25 million hospital facility. In addition to the full range of general acute care services offered by Parkview LaGrange, an electronic intensive care unit (eICU) with its eICU robot – a hallmark of all Parkview Health hospitals – has brought another, higher level of care to the people of LaGrange County. Current services include EMS and emergency care; ambulatory and inpatient surgery; endoscopy; medical-surgical care, a swing bed program and maternity. Ancillary and outpatient services offered include a full service laboratory; advanced diagnostic imaging including CT and a fixed MRI unit; rehabilitation therapy; a sleep lab; and physician specialty clinics (including cardiology, gynecology and orthopaedics).  Parkview LaGrange is a member of Parkview Health, a family of hospitals and healthcare services covering a 15 county region in northeastern Indiana and western Ohio.  With over 190 employees, Parkview LaGrange Hospital's mission is to provide trusted quality care and to improve the health of the communities it serves.
