The Murosity Project™, a community-art project, is installed along with Interactive Kiosk

5/1/2012

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Wednesday, May 2, 2012 — Parkview Foundation is pleased to announce the interactive kiosk for the Murosity Project™ has been installed in the Emergency Department waiting area inside the new Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC). The kiosk, developed by local company BioTouch allows visitors to PRMC to not only enjoy the artwork of the 160 canvas Murosity Project, but also read the story behind each canvas.

Each of the 160 canvases was painted by a different artist and each artist selected one of our region’s Everyday Stars™ to honor with their painting. An Everyday Star™ is someone who goes above and beyond and is generous to others through their time, talent or treasure. In addition to painting a canvas, the artists – high school students, professional artists, Parkview coworkers and physicians, and community celebrities – provided a story highlighting why they selected their Everyday Star.

The Parkview Foundation selected BioTouch to develop the kiosk because of their ability to develop in both a Windows and iOS environment. “Our goal was to use technology in a way that would be accessible to all so that the stories behind the Murosity Project would inspire and bring hope,” said Larry Rowland, President of Parkview Foundation. “BioTouch understood this goal and brought the creativity and skill we needed to the development of the kiosk.”

Tony Kohrman of BioTouch said, “BioTouch is honored to join Parkview and its Foundations in the creation of new communication solutions for the local community.”
