Parkview Physicians Group to launch integrative medicine program

3/18/2012

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Monday, March 19, 2012 — Parkview Physicians Group (PPG), a division of Parkview Health, today announced it will soon launch an integrative medicine program under the leadership of Dr. Angela LaSalle. Dr. LaSalle will serve as medical director of Integrative Medicine and the Parkview Women's Health Center.

As medical director, Dr. LaSalle brings physician leadership to build a collaboration of medical specialists to streamline treatment and focus on a deeper level of the patient's biochemistry, rather than each specialty working separately.

In addition, Dr. LaSalle provides executive direction and programming that will add value to Parkview's Women's Health Center. Patients will be able to receive personalized health care treatment that includes comprehensive integrative health care services to meet their individual needs and help their body and mind heal.

Integrative Medicine is a clinical division of PPG with a focus and reputation in world-class patient care, a multidisciplinary physician medical team, state-of-the-art laboratory assessment, and genetic testing to develop individualized preventative health plans. Integrative Medicine not only looks at the patient from a holistic perspective, but also provides medical care that addresses the body as a dynamic system and not as parts or separate organs.

The clinic provides individualized therapies pulling from traditional medicine, alternative therapies, targeted supplementation, medical nutrition, exercise, stress management and mind body techniques. It builds educational partnerships with psychiatry, cancer prevention, diabetes, thyroid, cardiovascular disease, and other related agencies and organizations.

Integrative Medicine fosters research and development of treatment strategies and pharmaceutical and nutritional products to treat underlying biochemical and nutrient deficiencies. With the growth and maturing of nutrigenomics, the term nutrigenomics will become accepted by patients and the medical scientific community and will eventually change eating habits and perhaps whole lives.

Dr. LaSalle is board certified in Family Medicine with a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, she received her fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona, a program founded by Dr. Andrew Weil.

Dr. LaSalle will begin accepting new patients on April 15. Dr. LaSalle’s office will be located on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus and can be reached via telephone at (260) 672-6590, by e-mail at integrativemed@parkview.com and online at www.angelalasallemd.com.
