Fort Wayne, Ind. – Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 — Parkview Health and Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne today announced the signing of a letter of intent for Vibra to move its long-term acute care hospital to Parkview Hospital’s Randallia campus.
Vibra’s current long-term acute care hospital is located at 2626 Fairfield Ave. It’s anticipated that Vibra would relocate its services to Parkview Hospital in 2012. The exact location within Parkview Hospital, square footage use and opening date will be determined in the coming months.
Vibra has a series of specialized programs and services focused on improving the lives and medical conditions of patients who require additional or extended acute medical care.

The new partnership demonstrates our commitment to quality and service and meeting the needs of our community.”

Today’s announcement follows the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding between Parkview and several area education institutions to establish the Life Science Education and Research Consortium of Northeast Indiana at Parkview’s Randallia campus. Partners include Fort Wayne Community Schools, Huntington University, Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast, Trine University, and University of Saint Francis. The Consortium is committed to generating a world-class center with a focus on rehabilitation, senior care and behavioral health.
Parkview Hospital’s future at the Randallia campus following the opening of Parkview Regional Medical Center:
- The hospital will have at least 120 beds, all with private rooms
- The patient rooms will be a mix of inpatient acute care, post-acute care and rehabilitation services, including a skilled nursing facility
- A full-service, 24/7 emergency department
- Family birthing services
- Surgery suites
- Select outpatient services
- Physician offices
- Sleep center
