Fort Wayne, Ind. – Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 — Parkview is offering weight management programs for children, adolescents and adults.
The Shapedown program is open to children eight to 18 years old and their families. The program is designed to improve exercise, nutrition, communication, and sedentary behavior.
Program requirements include a physician referral and release to exercise; child/teen with body mass index (BMI) greater than 85th percentile; and interest in improving health and fitness with a commitment to excellent attendance and participation.
An Information session will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the Parkview Heart Institute, 2231 Carew St. Classes begin Monday, Sept. 20 and are held each Monday night for 10 weeks at the ASH Centre, 1701 Freeman St. For more information, call (260) 373-3915.
The Real Solutions Adult Weight Management Class begins Monday, Sept. 20 from 4-5 p.m. at Parkview North Hospital. The class will meet each Monday for 10 weeks.
