On Thursday, Sept. 10, men over 40 can learn about prostate cancer, talk informally with expert physicians and get a quick, free blood test to detect
prostate cancer, courtesy of the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Any man over 40, or anyone who has a man over 40 in his or her life, is invited to this free educational program at the cancer center on the Parkview North campus. Parking is free, and light snacks will be provided.
5:30 to 7 p.m.
Free 5-minute blood test (the PSA Screen) for men age 40-plus who call in advance. Reservations are required even for guests who will not be receiving the blood test: (888) 780-3505. Confidential results of each man's test will be sent directly to him and to his physician.
Tours of the CyberKnife and other treatment areas will be provided by staff.
7 to 8 p.m.
Physicians from two leading Fort Wayne medical groups -- John Crawford, MD, Radiation Oncology Associates, and Donald Urban, MD, Fort Wayne Urology -- will present information on prostate cancer, the latest treatments available and why patients benefit when physicians collaborate on treatment through the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center. Drs. Urban and Crawford will also answer audience questions.
